On May 8th, 2018 at 5:00PM the Baker County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider two applications, County Cases TMH-18-001 and VAR-18-001.


TMH-18-001 Ashley Walker, on behalf of property owners Clay & Veda Walker, requests permission for use of an existing mobile home as a temporary residence for care of a family member on a ±94.82-acre parcel in the Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) Zone. The address is 40774 Buchanan Loop, Halfway, Oregon 97834, identified as Tax Lot 200 in Township 08 South, Range 46 East, W.M., Baker County, OR (Ref. 13264). This request will be reviewed using Baker County Zoning Ordinance (BCZO) #2014-01 Sections 410.02, 410.03(A)(9), 240, and 360.02.


VAR-18-001: Gary and Sharon Chamberlin request approval for the addition of a garage and multi-purpose room to the existing single-family dwelling on their property. The applicants propose a ±5-foot setback from their southern property line, where a ±10-foot setback is required by the Zoning Ordinance. The address is 46538 Snake River Road, identified as Tax Lot 300 of Township 09 South, Range 45 East, Section 26, W.M., Baker County, Oregon (Ref. #12904).


A copy of the applications, all documents and evidence submitted by or on behalf of the applicants, and the applicable criteria are available for inspection. The staff report the Planning Commission will use in its decision making process for this request will be available at the Baker City-County Planning Department by May 1st, 2018.
