Baker County, OR:  On February 26, 2015 at 6:00PM Baker County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider a conditional use permit for case number CU-15-001. 


The applicant, the City of Halfway, requests a conditional use permit and minor partition to construct a treated wastewater storage lagoon.  The site proposed for the treated wastewater storage lagoon is located in south Halfway, Oregon on two contiguous parcels approximately 431.07+/- acres identified as Tax Lot 1100 in Section 17 of Township 8 South, Range 46 East, W.M., Baker County, OR, Ref. 13516 and Tax Lot 3200 in Township 8 South, Range 46 East, W.M., Baker County, OR, Ref. 13403 in the Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) Zone. As part of the request, the City of Halfway is proposing a minor partition to create a 16.12+/- acre parcel to contain the lagoon on land centered on the property line between Tax Lot 1100 and 3200.


The public is invited to attend this hearing and to submit comments. Testimony and relevant evidence, either in support of or in opposition to the proposal, must be based on the applicable review criteria and submitted to the Planning Department by 5:00 p.m., on the hearing date, February 26, 2015, or in person during the hearing. The Planning Commission will review CU-15-001 based on testimony submitted by the applicant, Planning Department and impacted parties.  A copy of the application, all documents and evidence submitted by or on behalf of the applicant and applicable criteria are available for inspection at no cost and will be provided at a reasonable cost. The staff report for CU-15-001 will be available for inspection on February 19, 2015; copies will be provided for a reasonable charge, digital versions will be e-mailed for free.


The hearing will be held in the Commissioner’s Chambers at the Baker County Courthouse, 1995 THIRD STREET, BAKER CITY, OR.
