On July 30th, 2019, at 5:00PM, the Baker County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider case VAR-19-138, a request by Cornucopia Wilderness Lodge, LLC, for a variance to the 60-foot road setback requirement. If approved, the variance would allow a pack station be constructed ±34-feet from the centerline of Queen Mine Road. The applicable criteria are in BCZO Sections 205.06 and 360.02(B), Chapter 240, along with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The property is identified as Tax Lot 700 of Map 06s4527, located at 56994 Queen Mine Road, Halfway, Oregon.

The public is invited to attend this hearing and to submit oral or written testimony. Failure to provide statements or evidence sufficient to afford the decision maker an opportunity to respond to the issue, precludes appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) based on that issue. A copy of the application, all documents and evidence submitted by or on behalf of the applicant, and the applicable criteria are available for inspection. The staff report the Planning Commission will use in its decision-making process will be available at the Baker City-County Planning Department by July 23rd, 2019. A digital copy of the documents can be emailed to you at no cost, or a hard copy can be provided for a reasonable cost. Please contact the Planning Department with questions at planning@bakercounty.org or 541-523-8219.
