On July 9th, 2019 at 5:00PM, the Baker County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and work session to consider:

VAR-19-076: A request by Sage Morris at 15854 Hunt Mountain Lane for a ±103.7-foot-variance to the ±220-foot road frontage requirement. If approved, the variance would allow a parcel to be created with ±116.3 feet of road frontage on Hunt Mountain Lane, with access through a shared driveway with neighboring property. This request will be reviewed under criteria listed in BCZO Chapter 240 and Sections 360.02 and 510.04 (A)(2), and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

CU-19-121, MjP-19-122 & FDP-19-123: A request by the City of Baker City to construct a major utility facility including a treated wastewater storage lagoon, irrigation site, and ±7 miles of effluent transmission pipeline. The storage lagoon and an irrigation pump station are proposed on Tax Lots 300 & 500 in Section 24 of Township 08 South, Range 40 East, W.M., Baker County, Oregon. The request includes a partition to create an additional parcel measuring ±51.08 acres for the ±25-acre wastewater lagoon and irrigation pump station, and a floodplain development permit. This request will be reviewed under BCZO Sections 205.06, 320.05, 410.04(G)(1) and 630.05, and Chapters 210 and 360, the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and ORS Chapter 92.

Work Session: Review the potential addition of standards relating to special event permits to the Baker County Zoning Ordinance.

The public is invited to attend this hearing and work session, and to submit oral or written testimony. Failure to provide statements or evidence sufficient to afford the decision maker an opportunity to respond to the issue, precludes appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) based on that issue. A copy of the applications, all documents and evidence submitted by or on behalf of the applicants, and the applicable criteria are available for inspection. The staff reports the Planning Commission will use in its decision-making process will be available at the Baker City-County Planning Department by July 2nd, 2019. A digital copy of the documents can be emailed to you at no cost, or a hard copy can be provided for a reasonable cost. If you have questions, please contact Eva Henes at ehenes@bakercounty.org or 541-523-8219.
